Watchers and Walkers

It’s #Monday and I have a lil time sooooo it’s #storytime 😍

Yesterday, my car was trapped in my parking spot from all of the snow. 😩 I saw two men sitting on their porch just chilling with red cups in the cold. I asked if they could help me and they said no among other things (insert side eye). I understand people don’t have to be nice but I don’t believe chivalry is dead 😍. As I was sitting in the car, I could see two men waaayyyy down the street coming my way. 💡I decided that I was gonna ask them for help when they got close. They looked like they were

going somewhere… like they were in pursuit of something. I asked and they didn’t hesitate to help. They hopped right into beast mode. They told me what I needed to get out of the snow and what I didn’t have they got it from someone else. They didn’t stop until I was able to successfully get started on my journey. They pushed me out and coached me on how to steer. Once I got out, I ran into a rough patch. They were shouting from the side, “just turn and keep going”. 🙌🏾 I made it to church an hour late but I got there.

My point?

There are watchers and walkers.

The watchers are just gonna watch. They have the tools to help but they have no desire to do anything other than watch. Give ‘em a show.

The walkers are in pursuit of something. They are on the move. These are the people you partner with. They understand the importance of going and moving forward. They will push you, coach you, and help you secure the tools needed to move forward. The walkers will guide you and encourage you to keep going when you hit a rough patch. They strategize about now and next. They don’t focus on what’s going on around them. They focus on the task at hand. The walkers get you to a clear path then they continue on their journey.
